RAB detains SI with 31,800 Yaba tablets in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Aug 18, 2018 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a
Sub-Inspector of Police along with 31,800 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets
from Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram on Saturday morning.
The arrested cop identified as Abul Bashar, son of Abdul Hamid and hailing
from Cumilla, was posted as SI at Brahmanbaria district unit of DB.
A RAB team led by Feni Camp Commander Squadron Leader Shafayat Jamil Fahim
carried out the drive at 9 am today and detained Abul Bashar with 31,800
pieces of yaba tablets, said RAB-7 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
Md Nuruzzaman.
The SI was going to Narayanganj from Cox’s Bazar district with the yaba
tablets on a motorcycle, he added.
He was handed over to Mirsarai thana police, he added.
A case filed with Mirsari thana in this connection.
