Follow Bangabandhu’s ideals to build Sonar Bangla: Academicians

RANGPUR, Nov 02, 2017 (BSS) – Academicians at a seminar here on Wednesday laid emphasis on following the ideal, character and political wisdom of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders to build a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’.

They came up with the opinion at the seminar on ‘The War of Liberation, Ideal of Bangabandhu and History of Blood of Four National Leaders’ held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) yesterday.

The ‘Neel Dal’ of teachers’ of the university organised the seminar on the eve of the Jail Killing Day.

Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah attended the event as chief guest with President of the ‘Neel Dal’ Dr Shafik Ashraf in the chair.

President of Begum Rokeya University Teachers’ Association (BRUTA) Dr Tuhin Wadud addressed the seminar as special guest.

General Secretary of the ‘Neel Dal’ Apel Mahmud delivered welcome speech in the seminar moderated by teacher of the Department of Geography and Environmental Science Syed Anwarul Azim.

Writer Ashanuzzaman presented keynote paper titled ‘The War of Liberation, Ideal of Bangabandhu and History of Blood of Four National Leaders’ narrating chronological events those took place during and post independence periods.

Professor of the Department of Bengali Dr Nazmul Haque discussed on the keynote paper.

President of BRUR unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League Abu Monnaf Al Kibria and its General Secretary Kamrul Hasan Nobel also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Nazmul Haque said the people might get a different Bangladesh if there was no ‘black holes’ like assassinations of Bangabandhu and most of his family members on August 15 and jail killings on November 3 in 1975.

Dr Shafik called upon people for following the ideal of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders as heirs of their bloods to work unitedly in building a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’.
