CMP head office to move to Dampara police lines

CHATTOGRAM, July 28, 2018 (BSS)- The head office of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) is being shifted to Dampara police lines from city’s Laldigi area tomorrow.

The furniture and all related documents of the office had already been moved to Dampara police lines new office.

High officials of CMP including its Commissioner Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, additional Commissioner administration and finance Masud-ul-Hasan, additional Commissioner (traffic) Kushum Dewan and additional commissioner (crime and drive) Amena Begum will discharge their respective duties in the new office from tomorrow.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Public Relations, Alok Biswas told BSS that the new office of CMP at Dampara police lines will be stationed for three years.

The authority of CMP has been prompted to shift its office as a 22- storied building is being constructed on 2.67 acres of land at Porir Pahar (land of fairy).

At initial stage a seven storied building will be constructed in next three years and the rest will gradually be built, the sources said.

All activities of CMP will be run from Dampara police lines office until construction of its new building, he said adding that the design for multi-storied building has already been approved and the tender procedure will begin soon.

At present, CMP consists of 16 police stations in four zones with 50 police outposts.
