Quader urges DCs to expedite works of mega projects
DHAKA, July 25, 2018 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today urged Deputy Commissioners (DC) to accelerate the pace of mega projects before announcing the general election schedule.
“You (DCs) should work with sincerity and dedication to implement development progrogrammes in time,” he told a three-day Deputy Commissioner Conference in the auditorium of the Cabinet Division here.
Quader said, “The Padma Bridge is not now a dream…. Now we have made visible progress for the construction of the mega Padma Bridge project.”
It is not possible to construct new highways and roads before election, he said adding, “We have to keep these highways and roads suitable for smooth movement of vehicles during upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.”
The three-day DC Conference began on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Secretariat that will end tomorrow.
