136 more test positive for Covid-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, June 20, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 136 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24 hours in the district where the infection rate is now 21.18 percent.
The infected patients reached 55,981 in the district till Saturday evening.
The daily new infection figure shows a slight reduce compared to the previous day’s figure of 157 and the recovery rate is continuously increasing in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram told BSS today.
Among the new infected patients, 57 are from Chattogram city and 69 from different upazilas of the district.
The health experts of Chattogram urged city dwellers time and again to strictly follow health rules and use masks due to continuous increasing of corona infections here.
With one death reported, the number fatalities due to COVID-19 reached 657 here, Dr Rabbi said.
“Among the reported fatalities, 460 were the residents of the port city and the rest 197 were from different upazilas of the district,” he said.
Among the total 55,981 coronavirus infected people, 44,100 are the residents of the port city and the rest 11,881 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district, he continued.
“The number of cured patients from the lethal virus has reached 47,867 in the district with the recoveries of 247 more patients on Saturday,” the health official said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands at 85.55
A total of 6,247 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, he mentioned.
