Police constable killed in city road accident
DHAKA, June 19, 2021 (BSS) – A police constable was killed in a road
accident at Dhanmondi here today, police and hospital sources said.
The deceased was identified as Bashir Uddin Talukder, 44, hailed from
Dumki upazila of Patuakhali district. Bashir is the father of two daughters.
His family members live in the village house.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Mamun of Dhanmondi Police Station told BSS
that the victim received serious injuries as an unknown vehicle hit his
bicycle while returning his Hazaribag home from his work place at the Gabtoli
police outpost under Mirpur division of Dhaka Metro[politan Police (DMP) at
12:20 am today.
Police found the blood-stained body lying on the street while his
bicycle and a table fan next to it, he added.
SI Mamun said Bashir was rescued in a critical condition and first taken
to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Later, his body was later taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital
(DMCH) for autopsy.
