DHAKA, June 17, 2021 (BSS) – Police today filed charge sheet against former convener of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad, Hasan Al Mamun in a case lodged by a female student of Dhaka University (DU) for raping her and abetting the crime.
Investigation officer (IO) Aslam Uddin Mollah filed the charge sheet with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court, also pleaded to drop the names of five other accused including former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur, from the case.
Apart from Nur, the other four accused, who have been cleared by the IO, are- Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad joint conveners Nazmul Hasan Sohag, Md Saiful Islam,vice-president Nazmul Huda and DU student Abdullah Hil Baki.
The victim filed the case on September 20, 2020, with Lalbagh Police Station against Hasan Al Mamun and others for raping the DU student and abetting the heinous crime.
