Professor Hasibur Rashid made new BRUR VC
RANGPUR, June 9, 2021 (BSS) – Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR for a four-year term.
Chancellor of the university President M Abdul Hamid made the appointment, a circular signed by deputy secretary of the Ministry of Education Md Mahmudul Alam, confirmed the appointment today.
President M Abdul Hamid has appointed Professor Rashid, Professor of the Department of Management Information Systems of Dhaka University and incumbent Treasurer of BRUR, as the new BRUR VC for the next four-year term as per clause 10(1) of Begum Rokeya University Act, 2009.
The four-year term appointment will be effective from June 14 next and Professor Rashid will stay in the BRUR campus all the time as the Chief Executive Officer of the university.
After knowing this news, teachers, students, officials and employees of the university expressed satisfaction welcoming their new VC with a hope that the academic session jams and other prevailing problems and issues would be resolved soon.
