Six Points is refection of Bangabandhu’s lifelong struggle: Amu

DHAKA, June 9, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today said the six points were the refection of the lifelong struggle of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Bangabandhu prepared six points for the establishment of self-determination and self-control of the oppressed and disenfranchised Bengalis,” he said.

He made the remarks while addressing a virtual discussion organized by 14 central party alliance here on the occasion of the historic Six-Point Day.

He said that Bangabandhu had united the people in favor of the six points through a systematic organizational process.

Following this, people have been able to achieve independence step by step through the liberation struggle led by Bangabandhu in 1971, he said, adding that the six points declared by Bangabandhu were basically the certificate of emancipation of Bengalis.

Awami League (AL) presidium member and Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, on the occasion, said that the seeds of independence and desire of the Bengalis to live in self-dignity were sowed with the six- point movement.

Another AL presidium member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak said Bangabandhu is an everlasting star, under whose guidance Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, is moving forward to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

AL joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said that Bengalis gained independence through the six-point.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) President Hasanul Haque Inu said Bangabandhu’s desire to establish cent percent full authority and autonomy for Bengalis was in six points.

Workers’ Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badshah said that Bengalis got independence because of the birth of a leader like Bangabandhu.

Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das conducted the programme while Tariqat Federation Chairman Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari and Gono Azadi League President Advocate SK Sikder also attended it, among others.
