Govt to pay subsidy of TK 25,000 for hotel quarantine for Saudi expatriate workers

DHAKA, June 6, 2021 (BSS) – The government has decided to provide a subsidy of Tk 25,000 per worker that will be sent to the bank account of the employeesconcernedor their nominated representatives.

The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment covers the amount of expenditure of those Bangladeshi expatriate Bangladeshi workers who have or will perform compulsory institutional quarantine at their own expense from 20 May 2021 to 30 June 2021 in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government of Saudi Arabia to prevent the spread of the epidemic Covid-19, said a press release.

The employees concerned can download the application form from the website of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment www.probashi.gov.bd or the website of Wage Earners Welfare Board www.wewb.gov.bd or the website of Manpower Employment and Training Bureau www.bmet.gov.bd .

After collecting the application form from the Expatriate Welfare Desk located at 3 International Airports of the country, they have to complete it and submit it to the Expatriate Welfare Desk at the airport before departure on the day of flight from June 7, 2021 along with the below documents.

Photocopy of smart card or immigration clearance card issued by Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET), photocopy of first four pages of passport, visa photocopy attached to passport photocopy of ticket and photocopy of hotel booking document.
