Mild heat wave sweeping over parts of the country

DHAKA, June 6, 2021 (BSS) – Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Faridpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and it may abate at some places, said a met office release here today.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh, Barishal and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature was recorded on Saturday 37.6 degrees Celsius at Ishurdi and minimum temperature today 23.0 degrees Celsius at Feni.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am today was recorded 118 millimetres (mm) at Dhaka.

The sun sets at 6.44 PM today and rises at 5.11 AM tomorrow at Dhaka.
