Five players share lead after 4th round
DHAKA, June 4, 2021 (BSS)- Five players are sharing lead in the points table after the fourth round matches with 3.5 points in the Asian Zonal Chess Championship (Hybrid Chess), qualifying for the FIDE World Cup Chess, now being held at Asia Hotel & Resorts and online chess platform tornelo.
They are GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Enamul Hossain Razib, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman and IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Bangladesh, and CM Liyanage Ranindu Dilshan of Sri Lanka.
Three players secured three points each. They are IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Bangladesh.
Seven players earned 2.5 points. They are FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Anata Choudhury, CM Manon Reja Neer, CM Sohel Chowdhury and CM Nayem Haque of Bangladesh and FM LMST De Silva of Sri Lanka.
In the day’s fourth round matches were held today with GM Ziaur Rahman drew with GM Enamul Hossain Razib, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman beat CM Manon Reja Neer, IM Abu Sufian Shakil beat FM De Silva, CM Liyanage Ranindu Dilshan beat Anata Choudhury, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin beat CM Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed beat FM Subrota Biswas, CM Nayem Haque split point with FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag beat CM Sharif Hossain, CM Sohel Chowdhury split point with FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, Swanavo Choudhury split point with CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, Mihir Lal Das beat Raj Prajapati of Nepal, Niken Kusatha of Nepal beat Musawir Khan of Pakistan, WFM Noshin Anjum beat Wadifa Ahmed, CM Amarasinghe of Sri Lanka beat Yaqoob Muneeb of Pakistan, Faisal Muhammad Mughal of Pakistan split point with his team mate Awas Ahmed, Anshu Dil Prajapati of Nepal beat Haris Rizwan of Pakistan and Farooq Noor of Maldives beat Shahwani Afzal of Pakistan.
The fifth round matches start tomorrow (Saturday) from 3pm at the same venue.
