Govt. distributes TK 569 crore among pandemic-hit livestock, fish farmers: Kamal
SANGSAD BHABAN, June 3, 2021 (BSS)–Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today said the government has distributed around TK 569 crore as cash incentives among the pandemic-hit livestock and fish farmers.
“Cash incentives to the amount of TK 568.87 crore (of which TK 468.87 crore in the livestock sector and TK 100 crore for the fisheries sector) have been provided to 4,07,402 dairy and poultry farmers and 78,074 fish farmers, who have been hit hard during COVID-19 pandemic, through Nagad, Bkash and bank accounts,” he said while placing the national budget for fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022 in Parliament.
Kamal said the mobile market system was introduced to facilitate marketing of fish and fish products and animal and livestock products.
“Fish, meat, milk, eggs and other fisheries and livestock products worth about TK 7,286 crore was sold from April 2020 to December 2020 through mobile and online sales system.” he added.
