TK 1815 crore proposed for Law and Justice Division

Dhaka, June 3, 2021 (BSS) – Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal today proposed TK 1815 crore for Law and Justice Division for fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022, which is TK 99 crore higher than that was allocated in the revised budget for FY 2020-2021 .

“Steps have been taken to digitalise overall judicial system through development of necessary infrastructure relating to information technology for infusing huge dynamism in the judicial process and country’s overall judicial system will be digitalised under the e-Judiciary project,” the finance minister’s said this in his budget speech today .

The finance minister in his budget speech today also proposed TK 36 crore for the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division for the FY 2021-22.

A H M Mustafa Kamal in his budget speech further said every court in the country will be turned into an e- court, and the trial will be conducted through video conferencing without need for the appearance of notorious culprits before the court.

“All the activities of the Supreme Court and the lower courts will be brought under automation network. Information on the current status of the cases pending in the lower courts, the date of hearing, and the full verdict will be published on the website regularly. If these initiatives are implemented, the litigants would soon get the benefits,” the minister said

Meanwhile, TK 225 crore was proposed for the Supreme Court in the budget for FY 2021-2022. Which was TK 187 crore in last year allocated for the apex court in the revised budget.
