DHAKA, June 03, 2021 (BSS)- Newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Makbul Hossain today took over the charges at his new office at the Information and Broadcasting Ministry in the Secretariat.
He took the charges from outgoing secretary Khaja Mia this noon. Earlier, Makbul joined the ministry on May 31 according to a notification of Ministry of Public Administration.
Officers and staffs of the ministry as well as different departments welcomed and congratulated Makbul Hossain on his appointment as the information secretary.
Makbul, a member of the 10th BCS Administration Cadre, joined the civil service in 1991.
He discharged his duties as assistant commissioner, first class magistrate, upazila nirbahi officer, additional deputy commissioner, chief executive officer of zila parishad, director of Department of Environment, member of National Housing Authority and additional secretary of Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
He did his honours from the Department of Agricultural Economics of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh and masters in Business Administration.
Makbul visited different countries including the USA, South Korea, China, Germany, Japan, Vietnam, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka and the Maldives for official purposes.
In personal life, he is married and father of two daughters.
