JU decides to hold online examination

SAVAR, June 2, 2021 (BSS) – Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have decided to hold examinations online amid the coronavirus pandemic with a view to reduce the session jam.

The decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting of the university held on Wednesday with vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Farzana Islam in the chair.

JU syndicate member and dean of social science faculty Professor Rasheda Akhtar confirmed the matter to newsmen.

The syndicate approved the proposal of Academic Council to take exams online, said Prof Rasheda Akhtar.

‘We need to do some preparatory work before the exam. We plan to start exams within the next three weeks. Within this time, the preparation of teachers and students for online exams will be completed. Teachers need to be empathetic to students when taking exams online’, she added.

Associate Professor Mohammad Nazmul Islam, a member of the Technical Committee on online examination, presented the recommendation of the Academic Council at the Syndicate meeting.
