Nuruzzaman for keeping young generation away from drugs

DHAKA, May 31, 2021 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed
today stressed the need for keeping the young generation away from
drugs.

“Everyone needs to be vigilant to build the next generation. A
vested quarter wants to destroy the young generation getting them
addicted to drugs. They should be kept away from the curse of drugs,”
he told a function through videoconferencing from Dhaka.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the prize
distribution ceremony of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament, Boys (Under-18)
2021 on the Government GS Model School and College ground at Aditmari
upazila in Lalmonirhat, a handout said.

He said Bangladesh is now economically self-sufficient in the South
Asia and it does not dependent on foreign aid.

“To keep the pace of development, the next generation must be built
with human values. We have to make Bangabandhu’s dream come true by
building them as good citizens,” Nuruzzaman said.

Chaired by Aditmari upazila nirbahi officer Muhammad Mansur Uddin,
the function was attended, among others, by deputy commissioner of
Lalmonirhat Abu Jafar.
