Noyan emerges champion in blitz chess tournament
DHAKA, May 31, 2021 (BSS)- Noyan Mohanto emerged as champion in the 179th UCCC Online Blitz Chess tournament held on Sunday, a press release said today.
Noyan secured eight points from nine matches to clinch the title while Sheikh Mohammad Mutalib finished as runners-up with seven points playing the same number of matches.
SM Tareq and Mohammad Alom finished at third and fourth positions respectively with 6.5 points each after their place were decided in tiebreaking system while Sihab Tanim, Jewel Khan and Monayem Hosaain finished at fifth, sixth and seventh position respectively with six points apiece after their position were decided in tie-breaking system.
Alexi Shakharat of Russia, Milon Biswash and Uttam Kumar finished at eighth, ninth and tenth position respectively with 5.5 points each after their position were decided in tie breaking system.
Organised by Uttar Central Chess club, a total of 51 local and foreign chess players took part in the tournament.
