Road accident kills Chilli trader in Rangpur
RANGPUR, May 29, 2021 (BSS) – A green chilli trader was killed in a road accident near Deep Eye Care Hospital area on the Rangpur-Phulbari road in the metropolis today.
“The deceased was identified as Manjurul Islam, 45, of village Mirjapur in Mithapukur upazila of the district,” said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tajahat police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Md Akhteruzzaman.
The accident occurred when a pick-up van hit a battery-run van cart carrying the chilli trader with chilli from the opposite direction killing him on the spot and injuring the driver of the van cart.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured person with assistance of local people and admitted him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH).
“Later, the body was handed over to the family members of the deceased persons,” the OC said, adding that no case was filed in this connection.
