Four successive quakes hit Sylhet

SYLHET, May 29, 2021 (BSS) – Four moderate earthquakes jolted different parts of Sylhet today within a span of three and a half hours.

Meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), Sylhet Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury told BSS that the quake was felt at 3 degree on Richter Scale at 10.36 am, 4.1 degree on Richter scale at 10:50 am, 2.8 degree at 11.30 am and 4 degree 01.58 pm.

It originated with border area of Sylhet but the epicentre could not be identified.

However, no casualty was reported.
