Road accident kills one in Bagerhat
BAGERHAT, July 22, 2018 (BSS) – A man was killed and 15 others were injured as a passenger bus hit a roadside tree in Sadar upazila in the district today.
The deceased was identified as Bellal Hossain, 45, hailed from Depara village of the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Md Azizul Haque said the accident occurred at about 5pm in Mathavanga Bridge area on the Bagerhat-Khulna Highway when the bus hit the roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Bellal dead on the spot and injured 15.
The injured people were admitted to different hospitals.
The body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the bus, the OC also said.
