Rain or thundershowers likely

DHAKA, May 21, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and the regions of Jashore, Kushtia and Cumilla in 24-hour till 9am tomorrow,” said a met office bulletin issued here this morning.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the bulletin added.

Besides, mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Srimangal and it may continue.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 23 mm at Badalgachhi in Rajshahi division.

Country’s maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna division and minimum temperature today was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia and Sylhet in Rangpur and Sylhet divisions respectively.

Today’s sunset at 6.37 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5.13 am at Dhaka.
