Ruman disappoints in recurve men’s singles event

DHAKA, May 19, 2021 (BSS)- Country’s ace archer Ruman Sana put up a disappointing show in the recurve men’s singles event of Archery World Cup 2021 stage-2 now being held in Lausanne, Switzerland, said a Bangladesh Archery Federation press release today.

He lost to Ellison Brady of the USA by 2-6 set points in recurve men’s singles event in the round of sixteen.

Earlier, Ruman Sana however, progressed through the last sixteen with a 6-0 set points triumph against Oona Mart of Estonia in the same event.

Meanwhile, Diya Siddique lost to Stepanova of Russia by 7-3 set points while Beauty Roy lost to Anagox Yasemin of Turkey by 6-4 set points in the elimination round of recurve women’s singles event.

In the compound men’s singles event, archer Asim Kumar Das lost to Kowsar Seyed Hesameddin of Iran by 146-134 score in the elimination round.

A total of 234 archers from 35 countries across the globe including 80 of recurve men’s, 69 recurve women’s, 47 compound men’s and 38 compound women’s archers are taking part in the Archery World Cup.
