GAIBANDHA, Oct 24, 2017 (BSS) – Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah was accorded a reception on the premises of Fulchhari upazila parishad of the district on Monday.
The reception was given to the deputy speaker by Bangladesh Awami League,Fulcchhari upazila unit, for his outstanding contribution to the polling over Rohingya issue in Saint Petersburg Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference in Russia recently.
A total of 173 countries of the world attended the 137th conference where the Rohinga issue was raised by deputy speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, leader of the Bangladesh delegation.
The Rohinga issue was passed and accepted unanimously in the conference.
With former president of upazila awami league Akbar Hossain in the chair, the reception was also addressed, among others, by upazila chairman Habibur Rahman, and Fulchhari union parishad chairman Abdul Gafur Mondal.
A large number of people from all walks of life of the upazila attended the function.
