Met office forecasts rain on Eid day

DHAKA, May 13, 2021 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Meteorological
Department (BMD) this evening predicted light to moderate rain or
thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at a few
places over the country on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary
gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur,
Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions
across the country,” the met office said in a 24 hours weather
forecast commencing from 6pm today.

It also predicted rain at one or two places over Khulna division
with moderately heavy to heavy falls and hails at isolated places over
the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the
country during the period.

Rain or thunder showers activity may decrease by the next two days
while temperature may increase by the subsequent five days, the met
office predicted.

Today’s highest temperature in the country was recorded 34.8
degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Chattogram and the minimum temperature
19.6 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur.

The highest rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours till 6pm
today 58mm at M. Court in Chattogram.

The sun will rise at 5:17am and set at 6:34pm tomorrow in the capital.
