Celebrate Eid by maintaining health rules: President

DHAKA, May 13, 2021 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today called upon the countrymen to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr with utmost caution and maintaining proper health rules and social distancing.

“Celebrate the Eid with utmost caution and by adhering to proper health rules and maintaining social distancing,” the President said in a message on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of the Muslims.

Praying to the almighty Allah to protect the whole mankind from the ongoing pandemic COVID-19 (coronavirus), he said, “Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated this year at a time when the whole world, including Bangladesh, is facing severe difficulties because of the lethal coronavirus outbreak.”

In the prevailing situation, President Hamid reiterated his call to the affluent individuals of society to stand by the poor as the pandemic has threatened both life and livelihood.

“Islam is a religion of peace and welfare . . . There is no place for jealousy-hatred, violence and localism,” the head of the state mentioned.

Abdul Hamid stressed on spreading this noble message and ideology of Islam as it always upholds the universal welfare, including human values, mutual coexistence, tolerance and equality.

Expressing greetings and congratulations to the countrymen as well as the world people on this holy occasion, the President said, “After a month-long fasting and restraint, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr comes to us with a message of boundless happiness and joy.”

“The joy of Eid spread among all, in villages, all over Bengal and all over the world . . . On this day, people from all walks of life join in a line and share the joy of Eid, which builds a bond of friendship, harmony and unity among all,” he added.

The President hoped that the teachings of Eid-ul-Fitr would spread among all and help build a prosperous Bangladesh.
