Hasan urges BNP to stand by people shunning politics of blaming
DHAKA, May 13, 2021 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged BNP and other political parties to stand by the people and discard the politics of blaming.
“It is only the Awami League that stands beside the countrymen. No other political party was seen standing beside the people (during any crisis),” he said, addressing a function to distribute health protection materials among different organisations of alems (Islamic scholars) and journalists at AL president’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi.
The minister said different associate bodies of Awami League, including Krishak League, Jubo League, Chhatra League and even Mohila League, are not only distributing food and health protection materials, but also reaching the paddy to the houses of farmers after harvesting the crop.
AL Relief and Social Welfare sub-committee organised the function.
Hasan, also AL joint general secretary, said, “I would like to ask BNP and others political parties to stand by the people shunning the politics of blaming after learning from Awami League.”
He said BNP’s politics is centring round the punishment of Tarique Zia and Begum Zia’s health issue and punishment. “Our (Awami League) politics is for the people. On the other hand, BNP’s politics is to save their corrupt leaders from trial and punishment,” he added.
The minister said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met with the family members of Ilias Ali and told that none is safe in the country. “But, Mirza Abbas has told that BNP leaders made him (Ilias Ali) disappeared. And Mirza Abbas was show-caused for telling the truth,” he added.
Hasan said the people of the country are feeling insecure because of BNP as the party carried out the August 21 grenade attack, stopped the trial of Bangabandhu killing, and killed many including Ahasanullha Master, Shah AMS Kibria and Manjurul Imam in broad daylight.
AL organising secretary SM Kamal and Liberation War affairs secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, among others, addressed the function with AL relief and social affair secretary Sujit Roy Nandi in the chair.
