Ctg. Abahani return winning streak
DHAKA, May 5, 2021 (BSS)-Chittagong Abahani Limited returned to winning streak in the second round of Bangladesh Premier League Football when they edged past lowly Arambagh Krira Sangha by a solitary goal held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
In the day’s match, Ivorian midfielder Kpehi Didier Brossou scored the all-important goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited, securing the sixth victory in the league.
Chittagong Abahani, who lost to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 1-3 goals in their previous match, launched several attacks in the first half but they failed to take lead lack of proper finishing .
After the resumption, Abahani Limited came to the field with more organized creating some scoring chances. Their best moment came in the 79th minute when Kpehi Didier Brossou scored the decisive goal sealing the victory for Chittagong Abahani Limited.
The day’s win saw, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited secured 22 points from 14 matches while bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha remained at their previous credit of one point playing the same number of matches.
Abahani Limited will play against Saif Sporting Club while Arambagh Krira Sangha face Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in their respective next matches scheduled to be held on Saturday (May 8) at the same venue.
