DHAKA, May 5, 2021 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque today said the government would be able to fulfil procurement target this year as it has fixed reasonable price for purchasing good grains from farmers.
“Last year, food grain procurement was not possible as per the target, the government has fixed reasonable price this year targeting public procurement,” he said.
The minister said this while virtually launching a purchase app named ‘Krishaker App’ for Khulna’s farmers from his secretariat office here.
The government food procurement is very much important and it was not achieved last year due to various reasons, the minister told the function arranged by Khulna district administration.
“Purchase of food grains through an app will bring a revolutionary change to saline land of the southern district of the country,” Dr Razzaque said.
Different varieties crops and technologies which are suitable for the saline-prone land have already been invented. Tremendous success has already been achieved through cultivating these crops, he said.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Mohammad Helal Hossen, the online programme was also spoke, among others, by local MP Narayan Chandra Chanda, food secretary Dr Mosammat Nazmanara Khanum and divisional commissioner of Khulna M Ismail Hossen.
