Mosque converted into quarantine centre in Delhi

NEW DELHI, April 30, 2021 (BSS) – A mosque in the city’s Green Park area has been converted into a temporary Covid-19 quarantine centre amid the aggressive surge of coronavirus infections in the national capital.

“We’ve turned our mosque into a quarantine centre with 10 beds in view of rise of Covid-19 cases as hospitals are struggling with huge surge of patients,” Mohammad Salim, joint secretary of Green Park Mosque Managing Committee, told newsmen
today.

He said the quarantine centre is equipped with 10 beds and medical facilities while the patients would be provided masks, sanitizers and medicines.

“We’ve also arranged medicines, mask, sanitizers and PPE kits for patients along with providing them foods. Unfortunately, we don’t have oxyzen supply but will try to get it as soon as possible,” Salim added.

India recorded 3,86,452 new Covid-19 cases and 3498 deaths during the last 24 hours, according to data released by union health ministry today.

Among them, Delhi reported 24,235 fresh cases and 395 fatalities during the period.
