Paddy cutting festival inaugurated on ‘Bangabandhu in Crops Canvas’

DHAKA, April 26, 2021 (BSS) – A festival of cutting paddy was inaugurated today on the field where the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was made using green paddy fields with the title ‘Bangabandhu in Crops Canvas’ in Bogura.

On March 16 last, the Guinness Book of World Records recognised the crop-field portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the largest one of its kind.

Bangabandhu’s crop field mosaic was created in a field by planting paddy on a 100-Bigha piece of land in the village of Balenda under Bhabanipur Union in Sherpur of Bogura.

Clad in dress alike rural farmers and holding sickle in hands, Awami League (AL) leaders inaugurated the paddy cutting festival on the crops-field in Bogura.

AL Presidium Member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak and ‘Shasyachitre Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad’ Convener and AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim inaugurated the festival along with central working committee and local leaders and workers.

Shasyachitre Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad Member Secretary KSM Mostafizur Rahman gave the welcome address on the occasion.

AL Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Awami Swechchhasebak League President Nirmal Ranjan Guha, Krishak League President Samir Chanda, Bogura district AL President Majibar Rahman Majnu and General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu addressed the function, among others.

Shasyachitre Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad implemented the work to draw the image in association with private organisation National Agricare on the occasion of birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
