Swadhinata Parishad distributes essentials among city dwellers
DHAKA, Apr 23, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad today distributed essential commodities and masks among city dwellers in the city’s Sayedabad area.
Under the supervision of the organisation’s general secretary Shahadat Hossain Toel, packets of various essential food items, including rice, pulse, potato and onion, and masks were distributed among around 300 people in the area this morning, following the health guidelines.
Welcoming the initiative of Swadhinata Parishad, Awami League joint general secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud in a message said those, who have come forward for the welfare of the people responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will be remembered for their contribution in tackling the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Moderated by Swadhinata Parishad advisor and valiant freedom fighter Masudur Rahman, the food distribution programme was addressed, among others, by AL leaders Advocate Balram Poddar and MA Karim and president of the organisation Jinnah Ali Khan Jinnah, a ministry press release said.
