19,943 administered 1st dose, 13,67,03 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccines on Saturday

DHAKA, April 10, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 19,943 people were administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines while 13,67,03 received the second dose of the vaccine across the country today.

Among the vaccine recipients, who received 1st dose, 12,311 were male and 7,632 female, while those who received the second dose, 96,559 were male and 40,144 were female, according to the data of Management Information System of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

As of April 10, the number of vaccine receivers given the first dose of vaccine was 56,03,450. Among the vaccine receivers, 34,74,880 are male and 21,28,570 female. Besides, a total of 21,80,26 people received the second dose of the vaccine, of them 15,70,87 are male and 60,939 female as the countrywide vaccination campaign was launched on February 7.

People aged 40 years and above now can get registered to receive COVID- 19 vaccines, the health ministry sources said.

The vaccination drive was conducted at 50 hospitals in Dhaka city and
1,005 hospitals outside the capital today, the DGHS said, adding that the
immunization programme will begin at 8am and it will continue till 2.30 pm
every day.

But some hospitals will continue the vaccination programme throughout the
day, the health official said.

The inoculation would be administered among people in government hospitals
up to upazila-level while 70,18,150 people got registered till 5.30pm today.
