Ansar take solo lead after 4th round

DHAKA, April 7, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ansar & VPD now took solo
lead in the points table after the 4th or penultimate round games with
7 points in the mixed classical team chess event of Bangabandhu 9th
Bangladesh Games now being held at Chess Federation hall-room.

Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Biman following the lead with
6-point. Bangladesh Navy stand at 3rd position with 5 points and Titas
Club and Dhaka Division are jointly placed at 4th position with 4
points.

In the 4th or penultimate round games were held today, Bangladesh
Ansar & VDP beat Bangladesh Police by 3-1 game points. IM Mohammad
Fahad Rahman and WIM Sharmin Sultana Shirin of Bangladesh Ansar & VDP
won against GM Enamul Hossain Razib and WCM Jannatul Ferdous
respectively. Anata Choudhury and GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib of
Bangladesh Police drew with GM Ziaur Rahman and GM Reefat Bin Sattar
of Bangladesh Ansar respectively.

Bangladesh Biman beat Titas Club by 3.5-0.5 game points. FM Syed
Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Md Taibur Rahman and KAzi Zarin Tasnim of
Bangladesh Biman won against Md Masum Hossain, Jabed Al Azad and
Nusrat Jahan Alo of Titas Club respectively. CM Sohel Chowdhury of
Titas Club drew with CM Nanon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Biman.
Bangladesh Navy beat Rajshahi Division by 3.5-0.5 game points. FM
Khandaker Aminul Islam, FM Subrota Biswas and WFM Noshin Anjum of
Bangladesh Navy won against Bappi Sarkar, Shahidul Islam and Umme
Taslima Portiva Talukder of Rashahi respectively. Abdul Momin of
Rajshahi Division drew with IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin Ahmed of
Bangladesh Navy.

Dhaka Division beat Chattogram Division by 3-1 game points. Afzal
Hossain Sacchu and Wadifa Ahmed of Dhaka Division won against Sabujur
Rahman and Tasfia Tahsin Prima of Chattogram Division respectively.
Avik Sarker and A B Bappi of Dhaka Division drew with FM Mohammed
Abdul Malek and Kutubuddin of Chattogram respectively.

Khulna Division beat Sylhet Division by 3-1 game points. Mostafa
Razibul Hasan, Ariful Amin and Afrin Jahan Munia of Khulna Division
won against Tawhid Islam, Asaduzzaman Ahad and Nawrin Fatema Toa of
Sylhet Division respectively. Tutul Dhar of Sylhet won against
Hadiuzzaman of Khulna Division.

The 5th or last round games will be held tomorrow (Thursday) from 3
pm at the same venue.
