5,47,856 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, Mar 31, 2021 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine recipients rose to 5,47,856 with inoculation of more 5,374 people today in Rangpur division.

“Of the 5,374 people inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines in the division today, 3,027 were male and 2,347 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS this evening.

Of the total 5,47,856 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines, 3,30,205 were male and 2,17,651 female and they hailed from all eight districts in the division.

All vaccine recipients are feeling okay with no remarkable side effects since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 in the division.

“The district-wise break-up of 5,47,856 vaccine recipients stands at 1,56,439 in Rangpur, 39,681 in Panchagarh, 70,250 in Nilphamari, 35,280 in Lalmonirhat, 43,435 in Kurigram, 46,153 in Thakurgaon, 99,136 in Dinajpur and 57,482 in Gaibandha,” Dr. Ali added.

Talking to BSS, Acting Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. Mahfuzer Rahman called upon common people to sincerely abide by the health directives and hygiene rules to check the rising COVID-19 infection rate in the division.
