Five awarded for combating coronavirus pandemic in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 28, 2021 (BSS) – The district administration at a function
today accorded reception to health officials and awarded five of them for
their outstanding contribution to combating the coronavirus (COVID-19)
epidemic in Rangpur district.

The reception was given to the officials of different levels of the health
department working in the district as part of the celebration of ‘Golden
Jubilee of Independence: Developing Bangladesh from Least Developed
Countries’ programme.

The awardees are Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM
Nurunnobi Lyzu, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Herambo Kumar Roy, Superintendent
of Rangpur Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital Dr. SM Nurunnabi, Executive
Director of Good Health Hospital Prof Dr. Syed Mamunur Rahman and Rangpur
City Corporation Chief Health Officer Dr. Kamruzzaman Ibne Taj.

Before the reception, the district administration arranged a seminar titled
‘Vision 2041, Implementation of a Developed and Prosperous Bangladesh’
followed by a discussion at Town Hall auditorium in the city.

Secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives division Md. Rezaul
Ahsan attended the function as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Md.
Asib Ahsan in the chair.

Deputy Inspector General of Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya,
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud and Pro Vice-
chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Prof Dr. Sarifa Salowa Dina attended as
special guests.

Assistant Prof of the Department of Public Administration of Begum Rokeya
University Md. Zobaer Ibne Taher presented the keynote paper in the seminar.

Former Head of the Department of Bengali of Government Begum Rokeya College
Prof Mohammad Shah Alam, Teacher of Mahiganj Degree College Dr. Nasima
Akhter, Associate Prof of the Department of Accounting and Information
Systems of Begum Rokeya University Umar Farooque participated as discussants.

At the end of the seminar and discussion session, the chief guest with
others handed over mementos to the five health officials in recognition of
their outstanding contribution to tackling the coronavirus pandemic situation
in Rangpur district.
