RAJSHAHI, March 28, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of six more coronavirus
infected persons on Saturday, the total number of cured patients from the
virus (Covid-19) reached 24,705 in the division, said an official report
today.
A total of 3,071 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, it added.
Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, said the death
toll from the virus rose to 403, including 255 in Bogura and 56 in Rajshahi,
with two more fatalities reported afresh today.
Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought
under necessary treatment while 6,706 were kept in isolation units of
different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 6,014 have
already been released.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 48 new positive cases in seven districts
here on Saturday, the afresh infection figure shows a slight falling trend
compared to the previous day’s figure of 58, the total number of infected
patients rose to 26,492, Dr Habibul said.
Of the new positive cases, the highest 31 were detected in Rajshahi city,
followed by six in Pabna, four in Naogaon, three in Bogura, two in Sirajganj
and one each in Natore and Joypurhat districts.
With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-19
patients now stand at 6,391 in Rajshahi including 4,880 in its city, 834 in
Chapainawabganj, 1,686 in Naogaon, 1,286 in Natore, 1,389 in Joypurhat,
10,278 in Bogura, 2,848 in Sirajganj and 1,780 in Pabna.
On the other hand, 36 more persons have been sent to home and
institutional quarantine afresh while 11 were released from quarantine in the
division over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
A total of 66,807 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since
March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus
(COVID-19).
Of them, 65,701 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance
certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
On the other hand, a total of 5,75,119 people have been vaccinated for
Covid-19 in all eight districts of Rajshahi division till Saturday last since
the countrywide vaccination programme began on February 7.
Of them, 7,939 people including 3,894 females were inoculated on Saturday,
said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder.
He also said 1,784 people including 906 females received vaccines in
Rajshahi, 1,003 including 536 females in Chapainawabganj, 482 including 182
females in Natore, 586 including 287 females in Naogaon Saturday.
Besides, a total of 635 persons including 283 females got vaccines in
Pabna, 498 including 205 females in Sirajganj, 2,502 including 1,302 females
in Bogura, 209 including 86 females in Joypurhat and 240 including 97 females
in Rajshahi city on the day, he added.
