DHAKA, March 27, 2021 (BSS) -Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said that any attempt to tarnish the image of the country by creating instability during the stay of foreign heads of state and government on the golden jubilee of independence will not be accepted.

The minister made the remark while addressing a discussion online organized by Nesharabad Upazila Administration of Pirojpur on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence and Bangladesh’s transition from a least developed country to a developing country, said a press release.

The minister said, “Bangladesh is moving forward on the path of development and prosperity at this time of the golden jubilee of independence under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Even at such a wonderful time, some anti liberation forces are trying to rise to spread the poison of communalism inside the country.”

“But they have forgotten that we have an identity in Bangladesh that goes beyond religion. That identity is that we are Bengalis, we are citizens of Bangladesh,” he said.

In this context, Rezaul Karim added, “Islam is a religion of peace. We know the faces of those who looted, raped and forcibly converted many in the name of Islam, the religion of peace, in ’71.

Their allies are trying to rise again.” “Sheikh Hasina has tried war criminals and communal groups. If necessary, those who destroy communal harmony will be brought to justice. Peace in Bangladesh will not be allowed to be destroyed in any way.” he added.

Highlighting the development scenario of the country in the 50 years of independence, the minister said that the United Nations has made a final recommendation for the transition to developing countries due to developed and prosperous conditions.

As a result, Bangladesh has reached a glorious place to stand in the world, he said adding that “Bangladesh will reach a prosperous and developed status before 2041.”

“The dream that Banngabandhu saw has been made possible on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of independence. The Prime Minister of India,Narendra Modi, has praised Bangladesh and said that the way Sheikh Hasina is taking Bangladesh forward is a wonder of the world,” he added.

“Many heads of state and government of the world have come to Bangladesh at this time. Many, including US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, have praised Bangladesh’s remarkable development.

The whole world is saying that Bangladesh is able to make development that is enviable, “added the minister.
