Golden jubilee of independence celebrated in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, March 26, 2021 (BSS) – The golden jubilee of independence and National Day-2021 was celebrated here amidst pomp and gaiety with a vow to build up the country as ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Netrakona district administration, different socio-cultural organizations, political parties including Awami League, professional groups chalked out various programs marking the day.

The day’s program formally began with heralding 31 gun salutes at district collectorate office premises at the sun rising.

As part of the programs, the national flag was hoisted atop of all the public and private buildings in the district.

Public representatives including Habiba Rahman Khan Shafali MP, district-level officers, political leaders and leaders of different socio-cultural organizations and professional groups placed wreaths at the memorial monuments at district collectorate building premises and Satpai in the morning.

A colorful parade of Police Ansar, BDP, BNCC, boys scouts, girl guides, fire service and civil defense members and students of different educational institutions and members of different children clubs was held at local stadium in the morning.

District administration accorded a reception to the freedom fighters at local public hall. Improved diets were served to the inmates of hospitals, jails and orphanage children family centers in the district.

Special prayers were offered at all mosques, temples, churches and other places of worships seeking divine blessings for progress and prosperity of the nation. District information office arranged screening of documentary film show on ‘liberation war’ at old collectorate office premises in the afternoon.

District administration arranged a colorful musical soiree based on’ patriotic songs’ at local public hall in the evening.
