BD mission in New Delhi observes Genocide Day
NEW DELHI, March 25, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi today observed the Genocide Day in remembrance of genocide carried out by Pakistani occupation army on the unarmed Bengalis on the black night of March 25, 1971.
The programme began with a moment of silence in remembrance of the unarmed Bengalese who were killed on March 25 night in 1971 as well as the Bangladesh liberation war martyrs, a mission press release said.
The day’s programmes included reading out of the messages from the President Md. Abdul Hamid and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, screening of a documentary on the 1971 Genocide by the Pakistan Army and holding a discussion on the significance of the day.
Acting High Commissioner Rokebul Haque and Minister (Consular) of the High Commission Selim Md Jahangir, among others took part in the discussion.
Later, a special prayer was held seeking salvation of the departed souls of all the martyrs of the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
