President asks local representatives, officials to work for progress

KISHOREGANJ, Oct 11, 2017 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today urged the elected local representatives and government officials to work jointly with honesty and sincerity giving priority to the national interest.

“You have to work jointly to ensure the national progress alongside the local development,” he said while exchanging views with the local leaders, professionals, journalists and government officials here.

The Present held a series of view-exchange meetings with the elected people’s representatives and leaders of different professional bodies at Kishoreganj Circuit House auditorium in the morning on the last day of his four-day visit to his home district.

Noting that the quality of education has improved tremendously in the country, he said all concerned, including guardians and teachers, must give importance to developing morality of the students and inspire them with the spirit of the Liberation War.

Referring to the rich culture and customs of Kishoreganj, the President said, “The cultural activists should be more active and sincere to uphold our customs as a good culture helps building a sound nation.”

President Hamid also urged all to extend their hands of cooperation to materialize the “Digital Bangladesh” concept of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
