10-day grand celebration of Bangabandhu centenary ends tomorrow

DHAKA, March 25, 2021 (BSS) – The nation will celebrate the concluding day of the 10-day special programme of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of the independence with the theme ‘Swadhinatar Panchash Bochhor O Agragatir Subarnarekha’ tomorrow.

President Md Abdul Hamid will join the function as the chief guest at the National Parade Ground while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will chair the function.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the closing day events of the 10-day extravaganza coinciding with Bangladesh’s 50th Independence Day.

Chief Coordinator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury will deliver the welcome speech at the discussion, while Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque will give the welcome address.

At the discussion, “Sraddha Swarak” (souvenir of tributes) will be handed over to the guest of honour. The golden jubilee logo will be unveiled following the speech by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

At the cultural function, the newly formed raga ‘Moitree’ dedicated to Bangabandhu by renowned Indian classical music maestro Pundit Ajay Chakraborty, theatrical choreography titled ‘Father gave independent homeland, daughter gave light’ and three songs titled ‘Bindu to Sindhu’ will be performed.

The program will conclude with ‘Bangladesh Roar: Listen to the whole world today’ with concert and choreography, and finally with fireworks and laser-show.

The event will be held from 4.30pm to 8pm maintaining health guidelines.
