Cabinet members mourn death of Janakantha editor Masud

DHAKA, March 22, 2021 (BSS) – A number of ministers and state ministers
today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of veteran journalist
and the Daily Janakantha editor Mohammad Atikullah Khan Masud.

In separate messages of condolence, the cabinet members prayed for eternal
peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

The ministers who condoled the death of Masud are: Road Transport and
Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Agriculture Minister Muhammad Abdur
Razzaque, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Law, Justice
and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Education Minister Dr Dipu
Moni, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam
Dastagir Gazi, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, Social
Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul
Karim, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, Land
Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and Posts, Telecommunications Minister Mustafa
Jabbar.

State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, State Minister for
Social Welfare Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, State Minister for Labor and
Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud
Chowdhury, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-
operatives Shawpan Bhattacharjee, State Minister for Information and
Broadcasting Md Murad Hassan and State Minister for Civil Aviation and
Tourism Md Mahbub Ali also expressed shock and sorrow at the death of Masud.

Atikullah Khan Masud died at Evercare Hospital here this morning at the age
of 71. The veteran journalist had been suffering from respiratory problem for
long.
