KHAGRACHHARI, March 17, 2021 (BSS) – The 101st birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2021 was celebrated in the district today with due respect and festivity.
On the occasion, Kujendra Lal Tripura, MP, Chairman of the Task Force on Rehabilitation of Returnee Refugees, Member of Parliament for Reserved Women’s seat Constituency Basanti Chakma, Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Mangsui Pra Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pratap Chandra Biswas, Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Abdul Aziz, Municipal Mayor Nirmalendu Chowdhury paid tributes to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in town hall area this morning.
Besides, flowers were also placed by the district Awami League, various organizations including Muktijoddha Sangsad, various government departments, socio-cultural organizations and educational institutions.
A Quran recitation, milad mahfil, doa and discussion meeting was also held at the party office of the district Awami league this morning.
District Shilpakala Academy, Shishu Academy, Minority Ethnic Institute also organized a discussion meeting and cultural programme on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The district administration handed over the keys of the houses to the homeless people in the district on the occasion of Mujib Barsho.
