Four players share lead after 2nd round
DHAKA, March 10, 2021 (BSS) – Four players are sharing lead in the points table with maximum two points after the second round matches of the invitational phase of the Bangabandhu International Rating Chess tournament held today.
They are GM Ziaur Rahman, FM Debaraj Chatterjee, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag and FM Khandaker Aminul Islam.
Ten players are sharing the second position with 1.5 points. They are IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, CM Sharif Hossain, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Mohammad Javed, CM SM Sharon, Delwar Hossain, Mihir Lal Das and CM Sadnan Hasan Dihan.
In the day’s second round games of invitation phase were held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room with GM Zia beat Shafiq Ahmed, IM Fahad split point with CM Sharif, FM Debaraj beat CM Manon Reja Neer, FM Parag beat CM Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FM Amin beat Shariatullah, Delwar split point with FM Mahfuz, IM Minhaz defeated Jabed Al Azad, FM Nasir beat WFM Noshin Anjum, FM Javed outplayed CM Jamal Uddin, CM Sohel Chowdhury split point with Avik Sarker, CM Sharon outclassed Emdadul Haque, CM Sadnan beat Nusrat Jahan Alo, Anata Chowdhury defeated WFM Nazaran Khan Eva, Masum Hossain outclassed WIM Rani Hamid CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed beat WCM Ahmed Walijah, FM Md Saif Uddin defeated Showkat Hossain Pollab and Mohammad Shameem beat WCM Jannatul Ferdous.
On the other hand, twenty six players are sharing lead in the points table with maximum two points in the below 2100 rating phase. The second round games of the below 2100 phase were held today at NSC tower auditorium lounge.
