BAF chief returns home

DHAKA, March 8, 2021 (BSS) – Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat returned home from Sri Lanka today by a C-130J aircraft.

During his visit to Sri Lanka, the air Chief participated in various events to mark the 70th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force, said a press release.

As a part of the visit, he took part in a Colour Award Ceremony at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake where the President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest.

He presented books titled ‘Unfinished Memoirs’ written by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa, Secretary of Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka General GDH Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) and Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal SK Pathirana.

The BAF chief also made a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Commander, Pacific Air Forces General Kenneth S. Wilsbach and Secretary, Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka.

He witnessed Air Show of the Sri Lanka Air Force and exchanged views on professional matters with the Air Chiefs of the participating countries.

He left Dhaka for Sri Lanka on March 3 on an official visit accepting the invitation of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
