Champions Rupali Bank get cash award

DHAKA, March 8, 2021 (BSS)- Rupali Bank Krira Parisad, who emerged
champions in the just concluded “Mujib Barsho” First Division Chess League,
received cash award of Taka 50 thousand, trophy and medals.

The cash award was handed over to them through a prize distribution
ceremony held today at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room in the city.

KM Shahidullah, vice-president of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF),
presided over the prize distribution ceremony.

On the occasion, BCF general secretary and president of FIDE Zone-3.2 Syed
Shahab Uddin Shamim, BCF joint secretary Masudur Rahman Mallick Dipu,
International arbiter Haroon-or-Rashid and BCF executive member Sajol Mahmud,
were also present, among others.

Rupali Bank Krira Parishad emerged unbeaten champion with 21 points out of
11th matches.

Manha’s Castle, who finished runners-up in the league, got Taka 30
thousand as cash prize, trophy and medals while the third place finishers
Sultana Kamal Smirity Pathagar received Taka 20 thousand, trophy and medals.

Champion Rupali Bank Krira Parishad and runners-up Manha’s Castle both are
promoted to the next year’s Premier Division Chess League while Morning Glory
Chess Club, Kushtia and Dhaka Knight’s Chess Club relegated in the Second
Division Chess League.

A total of 12 teams participated in the event which was held in round-
