Former UP chairman hacked to death in Satkania
CHATTOGRAM, March 1, 2021 (BSS) – Former Chairman of Keochia Union under
Satkania upazila, Abdul Haque, was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants
last night.
Police recovered the body this morning from his Chairman Para residence in
Satkania upazila of the district.
Abdul Haque was elected as the Chairman of Keochia Union Parishad in 1986.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania thana Anwar Hossain suspected that
unidentified miscreants are thought to be behind the killing. “We are
interrogating the caretaker of the residence,” he added.
Abdul Haque has been living alone at his residence for a long time. Since
the family members of the victim were not present at the time of the
incidence, the miscreants took the opportunity of entering the house, the OC
added.
The victim had sharp wounds above his ears. The body was sent to the
morgue for postmortem, he added.
