Two more reported COVID-19 positive in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, Mar 1, 2021 (BSS) – Two more people were tested positive for
COVID-19 today raising the total number of coronavirus infected patients to
15,844 in all eight districts of Rangpur division.

Health officials said the two new cases were reported after diagnosing 175
samples at the infection rate of 1.14 percent today in the division where
infection rate continues declining in recent months.

Two new cases were reported positive after diagnosing 92 samples at the
COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur city.

“The two new patients include one each from Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha
districts,” Chief of the Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task
Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi
Lyzu told BSS tonight.

Meanwhile, none was reported positive after diagnosing 83 samples at the
COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur
today.

Talking to BSS tonight, Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director
(Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the number of COVID-19
patients rose to 15,844 as two new positive cases were reported from across
the division today.

“The district-wise break up of total 15,844 patients stands at 4,045 in
Rangpur, 795 in Panchagarh, 1,331 in Nilphamari, 966 in Lalmonirhat, 1,020 in
Kurigram, 1,512 in Thakurgaon, 4,711 in Dinajpur and 1,464 in Gaibandha,” Dr.
Siddiqui added.
