CHATTOGRAM, Feb 22, 2021 (BSS) – At least two people were killed and six
others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on
Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway under Lohagara upazila of the district this
morning.
The victims were identified as Rina Akter, 21, wife of Lokman Hakim,
hailed from Chokoria upazila, and Senu Ara Begum, 28, daughter of Altaf Ahmed
and hailed from Ramu upazila under Cox’s Bazar district.
Inspector Abdur Rauf of Dohazari Highway Police Station told BSS that a
Chattogram-bound passenger bus of ‘Marsa Paribahan’ collided head-on with a
stone-laden truck coming from opposite direction at 8.15 am in Forest gate
area under Lohagara upazila, leaving the duo dead on the spot and six others
injured.
The injured were admitted to Lohagara upazila health complex for treatment.
